Matthias Steffen

Matthias participated in international music competitions, such as Torneo Internazionale Musico, where he was awarded a Diploma D'Honora.
Within the scope of his orchestral work, he participated in numerous CD and DVD productions and participated in various radio and television recordings.

Matthias Steffen

Im Alter von neun Jahren begann er mit seiner musikalischen Ausbildung am Klavier.
In den Jahren darauf folgten Trompete, Euphonium, Bariton und Posaune.
Nach seinem Abitur leistete er  seinen Wehrdienst beim Heeresmusikkorps 300 in Koblenz ab und verpflichtete sich anschließend für weitere vier Jahre. 2005 begann er sein Studium an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in den Klassen von Henning Berg, Hans Gelhar und David Polkinhorn.
Von 2007 - 2013 war er Stipendiat der Yehudi Menuhin Stiftung “Live Music Now Köln”.

John Starkes

John Starkes has had a distinguished career as a Euphonium player for many years.  Having been brought up in Scotland, he first achieved distinction playing in the renowned Govan Salvation Army Band.  This was followed by moving south to Bournemouth where he became a member of the Boscombe Salvation Army Band, of which he has been the principal Euphonium for the last ten years.   As such he has performed both with bands and as a soloist throughout the United Kingdom as well as internationally, including visits to the Netherlands, Sweden, the USA, Canada, Norway and Denmark.  Whilst having

John Starkes

Schon seit vielen Jahren kann John Starkes auf eine angesehene Solo Euphonium Karriere zurückblicken. Seine bedeutende Euphoium Karriere hat in Schottland begonnen. Seit 10 Jahren ist John Principal Euphonium bei der bekannten Boscombe Salvation Army Band. Mit der Boscombe Salvation Army Band gab er schon zahlreiche Nationale und Internationale Solo Konzerte in den Niederlanden, Schweden, USA, Kanada, Norwegen und Dänemark. Ebenfalls Principal Euphonium ist John bei der Egon Virstuosi Band, Fuoco Brass Band und bei der Clarence Adoo Brass Band.

Nick Mott

Nick started playing the cornet at around the age of 7, under the tuition of his grandfather and previous GUS principal cornet, Michael Barratt. He grew up playing in the Salvation Amy at Kettering corps alongside James and Thomas Fountain. At the age of 15 and in his final year of the course he was appointed principal cornet of the Salvation Army’s territorial youth band. Nick was also Principal cornet of the Northamptonshire County Youth Brass Band.

Nick Mott

Nick Mott studierte am “Birmingham Conservatoire School of Music”. Richard Marshall und Ian Porthouse waren zu dieser Zeit seine Mentoren.
Kurz danach gewann er das Vorspiel bei der „Majesty’s Coldstream Guards Band“. Mit dieser Band konzertierte er für die „Queens Jubilee“ Konzert mit Robbie Williams und hatte erfolgreiche Konzert Tourneen in Japan, Schweiz und Deutschland. Nick spielte auch als Gast Solist mit der „Grimethorpe“, „Cory“ und „Brighouse“.
