Thomas Leforestier was only a child when he started music and took his first piano lessons. It's only
later that he got into playing the tuba.
He graduated in musicology at the Faculty of letters and human sciences in Nancy - France. He also
got a diploma from the Conservatoires Nationaux of Nancy and Strasbourg. There, he won the first
Prize for Scholarship and a unanimous first Prize in Tuba.
When still a student, he founded the En'tract Brass quintet and became ambassador artist for the
Willson Brand.
Having a State teaching Diploma, he also teaches Tuba. He started as a lecturer at the Conservatoire
National of Strasbourg, but has recently moved to the Aquitaine region and is now teaching at the
Conservatoire in Mérignac.
He takes part in many educational projects and, since 2013, he has joined the TubaBones band, with
whom he works on promoting and developing the trombone, saxhorn, euphonium and Tuba practice.
Today, he composes, writes arrangements and shares the musical direction of the band.
He also often plays as an additional musician with the Orchestre National du Rhin, or with the
Philarmonic Orchestra of Strasbourg and regularly plays with the National Orchestra of Bordeaux Aquitaine.

Thomas Leforestier a commencé la musique très tôt par l’étude du piano mais ce n’est que plus tard
qu’il s’est dirigé vers le tuba.
Il est diplômé en Musicologie par l’Université Française des Sciences Humaines de Nancy et diplômé
des Conservatoires Nationaux de Nancy et Strasbourg. Il y a obtenu un premier prix d’érudition et un
premier prix de tuba à l'unanimité.
Lors de ses études, il crée le quintette de cuivres En’ TRACT et devient artiste ambassadeur de la
marque WILLSON.
Professeur diplômé d’état, il enseigne également le tuba : il a été professeur chargé de cours au
Conservatoire National de Strasbourg et a récemment rejoint la région Aquitaine pour enseigner au
Conservatoire de Mérignac. Il prend part à l’organisation de nombreux projets pédagogiques et
rejoint en 2013 l’ensemble TubaBones, oeuvrant pour la promotion et le développement de la
pratique des trombones, saxhorns, euphoniums et tubas. Il écrit, arrange et codirige aujourd’hui cet
ensemble.
Il est plusieurs fois sollicité en tant que musicien supplémentaire par l’Opéra National du Rhin, par
l'Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg et travaille plus régulièrement avec l’Orchestre National de Bordeaux Aquitaine.
