Daniel is born in Bielefeld and got in touch with the music since his earliest youth.
He studied trombone at the Musical Highschool in Detmold with Professor David Bruchez-Lalli.
In the subsidiary study Euphonium he received lessons from Professor Anne Jelle Visser.
An exchange program took him to the University of Music and Performing Arts for two semesters, where he studied in the class of Profesor Otmar Gaiswinkler.
Subsequently, he resumed his studies in Detmold, but now with Prof. Otmar Strobel, and graduated with the diploma.
He was followed by a postgraduate studies at the orchestra center in Dortmund, where he completed the master's degree in the study orchestrate and finished it with distinction.
Shortly thereafter, he deserved the job for the solo euphonium position in the Hannover Bundespolizeiorchester, where he is still playing the euphonium
today.
Daniel was a member of the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra, conducted by Pierre Boulez in 2009.
In 2013, he held a temporary contract with the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie Herford.
In the spring of 2015 he attended the Mahler Chamber Orchestra Academy and played under the Swiss conductor Heinz Holliger.
As euphonium-player Daniel is playing many concerts in both chamber music and as soloist with bands.
Daniel Steppeler is so convinced from his Willson Euphonium 2900TA, that his choice when choosing an instrument of the orchestra was made again for the same model he already played for many years private.
