Daniel Riedener, born 21 July 1986, comes from Untereggen, a small parish not far from St. Gallen. He grew up in a musical family and started playing the cornet at an early age with his two sisters. In 2015, Daniel completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in trumpet under Laurent Tinguely at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) and began his Masters immediately after. He is studying orchestral conducting as a minor subject under Marc Kissoczy. Alongside this, he works as a wind instrument tutor for beginners in Untereggen, where he also launched the BMU Kids project, which he still oversees today. Since January 2015, Daniel has run the Neukirch-Egnach Music Society and in summer he was selected as the new conductor of the music society in Haslen.

Daniel played and continues to play in various groups, for example the Liberty Brass Band, the Universal Brass Band and the ZHdK orchestra. He is also regularly involved in Brassweek Samedan, where music workshops are provided by Mnozil Brass and many other top-class musicians from Switzerland and abroad, for example Klaus Schuhwerk, Reinhold Friedrich and Roger Webster.
